In spite of the seemingly strong feelings in my last post, I somehow managed to apply and land an internship over the course of the past week. I found the listing from NUS’s eJobCentre, and as a result of a technical glitch in the form submission process, I had to submit my application via email instead.
It was probably fortunate of me to secure the Web and Graphic Design Internship considering the number of other applicants I came across on the day of my interview. I actually brought down my NM2208 portfolio that day, and I’d like to think that somehow it made a difference in the selection.
I’ll be starting work next Monday, and the firm I’ll be interning with is Kooshi. I guess I don’t really have much expectations except for the opportunity to work on design-related projects, getting some hands-on experience and hopefully boosting my portfolio in the process. I’m looking forward to starting work already, not only so that my holidays won’t be wasted, but I’ll have the chance to earn some income as well.
With the coming of next week will be more excitement as the examination results are set to be finally released next Friday. It’s been a dreadfully long wait so far, nearly three weeks to be exact, although I’m starting to get that anti-climatic feeling where I don’t really want to know how well or poor I fared. Friday will wrap up my freshman year, and if I have the time I’ll write a post about this past year in general.
