The Day that Finally Came
by Kah Hong
It has been twenty-five days since my last paper, and today’s arguably the most important day within this period. It had been an unnerving wait at times during these past few weeks, but these results are something that I’ve worked so hard for for the last five months, and when today finally arrived I was overwhelmed with excitement. I just checked my results earlier this morning, and I’m truly delighted with what I got, bar the grade of one module. The breakdown, just like last semester, is as follows:
CS1102 Data Structures and Algorithms: A
CS2100 Computer Organisation: A+
GEM2901 Reporting Statistics in the Media: A-
MNO1001 Management and Organisation: A
NM2208 Principles of Visual Communication: B
CAP: 4.53
An unfortunate trend I noticed regarding my freshman grades is that I perform horridly at non-examinable modules, and moreover the distinction is by a fair margin of two grades within each semester. It goes to show that I’m significantly better at examinations, which isn’t necessarily a good thing, but an interesting observation nonetheless. It completely throws my theory that non-examinable modules are easier out of the window, and perhaps it means I’m not as consistent over the course of the semester as I’d like to think.
